Client testimonial

“I came to Struo with an idea for Math Prep Pro, not a finished product. They helped me turn that idea into a complete platform from the ground up.

Today, Math Prep Pro gives students timed AMC and AIME practice tests, step-by-step solutions, personalized performance analytics, and AI-powered test reviews. The platform now includes more than 70 mock tests and 1,700 practice problems and serves over 2,600 users.

What stood out was that Struo thought beyond the code. They understood the product, challenged assumptions, and helped shape something that could launch and grow. They weren’t simply a development vendor—they were the partner who helped make the idea real.”

Kevin Scott · Co-Founder · Math Prep Pro

The situation and challenge

Before the project

Kevin Scott approached Struo with an initial idea for a more structured way to prepare students for the AMC and AIME. There was no existing product, design system, brand, application, or codebase to extend. The project had to move from early product thinking to a complete public platform.

Students preparing for competition math often piece together past exams, PDFs, books, videos, tutoring sessions, and unrelated problem archives. Those resources can provide useful material, but they rarely connect the entire preparation process.

The challenge

Students may complete problems without realistic timing, struggle to see whether missed points came from knowledge gaps or pacing, and receive an answer key without a clear plan for what to work on next. MathPrepPro needed to provide a connected preparation cycle rather than another static problem library.

A student had to be able to choose the appropriate exam level, complete a realistic timed test, receive reliable scoring, review each solution, understand performance by topic and question time, and receive useful next-step guidance.

The business also needed a clear acquisition and commercial path. Prospective users needed a low-friction way to experience the platform through a free test, while paid bundles provided access to a deeper set of original mock exams. Behind the scenes, MathPrepPro needed operational tools for managing tests, questions, solutions, users, bundles, and purchases.

Success requirements

The complete product needed to support:

  • AMC 8, AMC 10, AMC 12, and AIME preparation
  • A focused timed-test experience
  • Original problems and detailed solutions
  • Reliable scoring and answer-state tracking
  • Topic-level and pacing analytics
  • Personalized post-test feedback
  • Free and paid access workflows
  • A scalable content-management and administration system
  • A public marketing site capable of explaining the product to students and parents
  • A production deployment that could be maintained and expanded after launch

Struo's role and approach

Struo served as MathPrepPro’s end-to-end product and technology partner. The work extended beyond application development: Struo helped define the product model, shaped the user journey, created the visual identity and content, produced the original problem library and solutions, designed the interfaces, built the platform, launched it, and continues to support its operation and growth.

Four product decisions shaped how the platform turns an early concept into a practical preparation and commercial system.

Let users experience the product before purchasing

Struo proposed a free-test-to-paid-bundle model because competition-math preparation is easier to evaluate through use than through marketing claims alone. A free test lets students and parents experience the timed interface, scoring, solutions, and analytics before deciding whether to purchase additional practice.

Build around the complete preparation cycle

The platform follows the sequence students actually use: select an exam level, complete a timed mock test, receive a score, review missed questions, understand pacing and topic performance, and decide what to practice next. Distinct AMC 8, AMC 10, AMC 12, and AIME tracks keep test selection and content organization clear.

Explain performance, not just scores

A score alone cannot show whether points were lost to a topic gap, slow problem solving, poor question selection, or unfinished work. Topic classifications, answer-state reporting, time-per-question data, benchmark context, score trends, and topic summaries turn each completed test into useful review information without promising a guaranteed improvement.

Use AI to structure post-test guidance

The OpenAI API works as a post-test review layer, turning performance data already recorded by the platform into a structured review of overall performance, mistake patterns, topic priorities, and suggested next steps. It does not independently verify mathematical facts or guarantee the accuracy of every recommendation.

What we built

Marketing, onboarding, and bundle access

Struo created the MathPrepPro brand and public website to explain a specialized product to both students and parents. The experience introduces the supported competition levels, shows how timed practice and analytics work, and directs new users toward a free test. The commercial journey supports free access and one-time paid practice bundles without turning the site into a generic online course marketplace.

  • Original brand, logo, and visual direction
  • Exam-specific product positioning
  • Free-test entry point
  • Practice-bundle access
  • Student- and parent-oriented website copy
  • Responsive marketing pages
  • Search-engine optimization foundations

Timed competition-test engine

The testing engine recreates a focused AMC and AIME-style practice environment. Students can work through multiple-choice questions under timed conditions, navigate between questions, submit answers, and complete a full mock-test attempt. The application records answer states and time information needed for scoring and later analysis while keeping attention on the problem rather than surrounding interface complexity.

  • Timed test sessions
  • Question-by-question navigation
  • Multiple-choice answer selection
  • Answer submission and completion states
  • Correct, incorrect, and blank tracking
  • Exam-level content organization
  • Responsive test interface

Solutions, analytics, and AI-powered review

After a test, students receive more than an answer key. The platform presents the score, answer breakdown, topic performance, and time spent on individual questions. Students can review step-by-step solutions and see a broader summary of strengths, mistake patterns, unfinished areas, and recommended priorities. Across multiple attempts, the dashboard adds score trends, best-score context, benchmarks, and topic-performance summaries.

  • Immediate scoring
  • Correct, incorrect, and blank summaries
  • Time-per-question analysis
  • Topic-level reporting
  • Step-by-step solutions
  • Score trends and best-score tracking
  • Benchmark context
  • AI-powered post-test reviews
  • Suggested next practice priorities

Content and business administration

A custom administration system supports the operational side of the product. MathPrepPro can organize the growing library of tests, questions, solutions, classifications, bundles, users, and purchases through a central management layer rather than relying on manual page updates. The content architecture supports more than 70 mock tests and approximately 1,700 original practice problems across AMC 8, AMC 10, AMC 12, and AIME preparation.

  • Test management
  • Question management
  • Solution management
  • Topic classification
  • Bundle management
  • User management
  • Purchase administration
  • Access-control workflows
  • Expandable content architecture
